ABOUT THOMAS ANNANG DRUMMING & DANCE
Thomas Tettey Annang is a professional drummer and dancer from Ghana based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Carrying out programs, workshops and tuition classes across the entirety of the UK and Ireland.
He has been a member of the Akrowa Dance Ensemble in Accra, Ghana for nine years. Akrowa Dance Ensemble is a professional group of drummers and dancers who have performed for many occasions (weddings, funerals, festivals, local and tourist entertainment) and in a multitude of establishments including schools, hotels, the National Theatre of Accra, the Canadian, Brazilian and Danish Embassies, the American Consulate and the UN, to name but a few.

ONE ON ONE OR GROUP TUITION
Whether it’s for relieving stress, for boosting confidence, out of a simple interest, with our Full-Time Program, students can experience Thomas Annang Drumming & Dance exactly how they want. If at any point you decide you’d like to join a different program, give us a call or drop by our administration office.
COMMUNITY & YOUTH GROUPS
Group drumming can hugely benefit the interaction between members of any group! We each follow and lead a beat – like liquid, it passes amongst the group, rendering all participants as equal and thus comes the theory of how music unites us all, crosses boundaries of background, ethnicity, gender and more!
But that’s not all…it’s highly addictive and enjoyable! If there is one thing we can guarantee… it’s that every group member will enjoy the experience and leave it feeling in some way uplifted!
Activities can be tailored to suit the needs of specific groups and we can provide all the drums you need.

SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
Our school workshops are fully interactive and can last anything from 30 mins to 2 hours with one group of pupils. We tailor our workshops to suit all age groups from 4 years up to young adults at 18 years.
They are lively and energetic keeping pupils focused as they learn traditional African rhythms. We offer drumming only workshops, where every pupil is equipped with their own drum, hand percussion are also available. Or we can combine drumming and dancing for groups of up to 60 pupils.
Half of the group will learn a dance to accompany the rhythm which the other half of the group are learning on drums. The pupils then swap over, so every pupil will have a chance to drum and dance. The finale makes for a very entertaining performance for parents and the rest of the school.
